Fur Father Fund
The Fur Father Fund helps reduce the cost of spay and neuter services for people facing financial hardship.
The standard fee is $175. If you cannot afford the full amount, you may apply to the Fur Father Fund for a possible reduction when intake is available.
Additional documentation and government-issued ID are required as part of the application process.
Each application is reviewed on its own merits. Fee reductions depend on the funding available in the Fur Father Fund at the time of review.
The Fund can only approve applications, when warranted, for residents of Abbotsford and Mission.
Making essential care more accessible can help prevent unplanned litters and keep local cats healthier.

Alpha Animal Hospital
The program is provided through Alpha Animal Hospital in Abbotsford.
Most procedures fall between $175 and $200.
Your Voucher Includes
- β Spay or neuter surgery
- β Take-home pain medication
- β Nail trimming
- β One standard FRCP vaccination dose
- β A microchip
Additional Services
At the time of surgery, optional services may be requested, such as additional vaccinations.
Any additional requested services are paid directly to Alpha Animal Hospital.
Cat Spay and Neuter Program Details
A few important requirements and program conditions to review before registering your cat.
Minimum Weight
At the time of surgery, your cat must weigh at least 1 kg / 2.2 lbs.
Rabies Vaccine
A rabies vaccination is only permitted for kittens that are 3 months of age or older.
One Surgical Appointment
All services provided through the voucher are completed during the surgical appointment.
ACD Remains on the Microchip
Abby Cat Daddy remains on the catβs microchip for the life of the cat.
We also retain the client information provided so we can reach out if contact is ever needed.

This program is designed for residents of the Eastern Fraser Valley, specifically:

Residents outside the Eastern Fraser Valley may apply and may be accepted into the program.
Applicants outside the region cannot add further discounts or requests for assistance through the Fur Father Fund.
