Lower Cost Spay and Neuter Program
Our Goal: We want to reduce the stray cat population, and accidental kitten litters in homes. To make this happen, we have set up an option for a lower cost spay and neuter program. This program is available for residents in Abbotsford, and Mission, British Columbia. It is our hope that by doing this the cats in our communities will be happier and healthier.
Fur Father Fund
The Fur Father Fund helps reduce the cost of services for people facing financial hardship.
The standard fee is $175. If you cannot afford the full amount, you can apply to the Fur Father Fund for a possible reduction. The fund operates like a grant. Additional documentation and government issued ID are required.
Each application is reviewed on its own merits. Fee reductions depend on the funding available in the Fur Father Fund at the time of review.
The Fund can only approve applications (when warranted) to residents of Abbotsford and Mission.

$175 – $428.75 (Most $175-$200)
What is included:
Each spay/neuter comes with take-home pain meds, nail trimming, one standard FRCP vaccination dose and a microchip.
At the time of surgery, if optional services are requested (such as additional vaccinations, etc.), the client will pay those additional costs directly to Alpha Animal Hospital.
Other Details:
At the time of surgery the cat MUST be at mininum 1kg or 2.2lbs of weight (usually between 10-12 weeks of age). Rabies vaccine is only permitted on kittens 3 months or older.
ALL SERVICES provided through the voucher will be completed on the surgical appointment.
ACD will remain on the microchip for the life of the cat, as such we will also be retaining the information provided to be able to reach out to clients if it is ever needed.
This program is designed for residents of the Eastern Fraser Valley- (Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope, Mission, Agassiz, Aldergrove). Residents outside of this region may apply and may be accepted but no further discounts or requests for the Fur Father Fund may be added.
